KINGSTOWN, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines — Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is accelerating its digital transformation agenda, with 49 technology-related projects currently underway to improve services and expand the use of digital systems across the country.

The update was delivered by Caribbean Digital Transformation Project (CARDTP) SVG Project Manager Winston George during a cybersecurity awareness launch on September 1. The projects are aimed at improving the ease of doing business and making services more accessible through digital technology.

The digital push also includes work on payment and money services legislation and efforts to strengthen cyber resilience in the banking system.

Cybersecurity is becoming a major part of SVG's technology agenda as more public services, businesses and financial activities move online. Officials are also preparing awareness programmes designed to promote safer digital behaviour among vulnerable and underserved groups.

One initiative, called Swipe Safe, is designed to teach children aged eight to 12 about digital hygiene through games and interactive learning. Another programme, Safe Her Online, will focus on raising awareness of digital gender-based violence and promoting safer online spaces for women and girls.

The growing number of projects signals a wider shift toward digital government, stronger cybersecurity and a more technology-driven economy in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

For businesses, the transformation could create new opportunities in fintech, software development, cybersecurity, digital services and technology training as the country expands its digital infrastructure.

As SVG continues to modernise public services and strengthen cyber resilience, technology is expected to play an increasingly important role in how Vincentians access government services, conduct financial transactions and participate in the digital economy.
