Saint Kitts and Nevis has become a regional technology showcase as young innovators presented new artificial intelligence and Python-powered solutions designed to address real-world challenges.

The 2026 ECCU Generative AI and Python Summer Camp concluded with a major Chatbot and Multimedia Showcase at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank headquarters in Basseterre on August 28. Participants developed 12 chatbot projects and six multimedia presentations during the programme.

The projects focused on practical challenges identified by businesses and public-sector organisations, including banking, credit reporting, electricity, port operations, social security, taxation, and water and sewerage services.

A notable change this year was the emphasis on working with real organisations rather than relying solely on simulated classroom exercises. The programme connected young participants with enterprise clients to identify problems and develop technology-based solutions.

The initiative is strengthening Saint Kitts and Nevis' position as a regional hub for youth technology, AI education and digital innovation, while giving students practical skills that could support future careers in the digital economy.

The showcase also demonstrates how artificial intelligence can be applied to everyday challenges across the Eastern Caribbean.
