The British Virgin Islands’ corporate sector is showing continued momentum, with company formations reaching a five-year high during the first half of 2026.
According to figures from the BVI Financial Services Commission, the territory recorded 14,977 incorporations between January and June, representing a 6.9% increase compared with the same period in 2025.
The increase highlights the continuing importance of the BVI’s international business and corporate services sector, which remains a major component of the territory’s financial-services economy.
The latest figures come as the BVI continues efforts to strengthen its position as a well-regulated international financial centre. Government has also highlighted the territory’s strong compliance performance and ongoing work to modernise financial-services regulation and improve international competitiveness.
For BVI-based corporate service providers and financial professionals, the latest incorporation figures could signal continued international demand for BVI corporate structures and reinforce the importance of maintaining the territory’s reputation for regulatory standards and business efficiency.
With global financial markets continuing to evolve, the strong first-half incorporation performance gives the BVI’s financial-services industry another positive indicator as it looks toward the remainder of 2026.
