CASTRIES, Saint Lucia — Saint Lucia is taking another major step toward digital transformation with plans to develop a secure government digital wallet and integrated digital payment solutions.

The initiative is being advanced through the Caribbean Digital Transformation Project, with the Government seeking consultancy services to support the development of the proposed system.

The proposed secure wallet could strengthen the way citizens access and interact with government services by supporting more modern, secure and integrated digital transactions.

The project forms part of Saint Lucia's wider effort to expand digital public services and modernise the technology systems used by government institutions. Digital payment integration could also help reduce dependence on traditional paper-based processes and improve convenience for citizens and businesses.

For Saint Lucia's technology sector, the development could create new opportunities in fintech, cybersecurity, software development, digital identity and government technology services.

The initiative also highlights the growing importance of secure digital infrastructure as Caribbean governments seek to make public services faster, more accessible and better connected.
