CASTRIES, Saint Lucia — Saint Lucia's business community is set to receive broader recognition after organisers announced three new categories for the 12th annual Saint Lucia Business Awards.

The expansion was unveiled during a pre-ceremony launch at the Harbour Club in Gros Islet, with the awards ceremony scheduled for January 30, 2027 under the theme “The Chrysalis Effect.”

The addition of new award categories reflects the changing nature of Saint Lucia's private sector and growing recognition of innovation, resilience and business excellence across a wider range of industries.

The awards programme is expected to provide companies, entrepreneurs and business leaders with another platform to showcase achievements and highlight their contribution to the national economy.

For small and medium-sized enterprises, recognition programmes can also help increase visibility, strengthen professional networks and encourage greater competition and innovation.

The latest expansion comes as Saint Lucia continues to focus on creating a stronger business environment and supporting private-sector growth.

The country's 2026/27 policy agenda has included measures aimed at easing some pressures on businesses, including tax-related relief and improved digital services intended to make business processes more efficient.

As preparations continue for the 2027 ceremony, attention will now turn to which Saint Lucian businesses and entrepreneurs emerge as leading contenders in the expanded awards programme.
