SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic — The Dominican Republic is recording stronger international trade activity, with exports reaching US$9.277 billion between January and July 2026, representing a 12% increase compared with the same period last year.

The growth comes as Dominican companies seek to expand their presence in international markets. Officials highlighted the country’s export performance during the Hub Cámara Santo Domingo 2026, which brought together hundreds of Dominican exporters and international buyers.

More than 150 international buyers from up to 30 countries are participating in the business event, alongside around 280 approved Dominican exporters. The program includes more than 1,000 B2B meetings designed to generate commercial partnerships and new export opportunities.

Officials said Dominican exports now generate an average of approximately US$1.3 billion per month, nearly double the monthly level recorded six years ago.

The country is also targeting further expansion, with ProDominicana promoting a goal of more than US$17 billion in annual exports by 2028.

The latest figures reinforce the Dominican Republic’s position as a growing Caribbean trade and investment hub, particularly for companies seeking preferential access to international markets.
