SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic — The Dominican Republic is expanding its use of technology in public administration, with more than 1.2 million citizens served through Puntos GOB, according to the Office of Government Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC).

The milestone was highlighted as OGTIC marked 22 years of digital transformation, with the agency emphasizing how technology is making government services more accessible and administrative processes more efficient.

Puntos GOB brings multiple public services together in centralized locations, allowing citizens to complete different government procedures through a more streamlined system. The initiative forms part of the country’s broader digital-government strategy.

The Dominican Republic is also strengthening its regional role in digital government. The country holds the 2026 presidency of the Inter-American Digital Government Network (Red GEALC) and is serving as host of its ministerial meeting, placing digital transformation high on the national technology agenda.

The latest figures underline the growing importance of e-government, digital public services and technology-driven administration in the Dominican Republic.
