BRADES, Montserrat — Montserrat residents are being offered a new opportunity to build advanced technology skills through the 2026 OECS Advanced Digital Skills Scholarship Programme, with applications open until September 20, 2026.

The programme, delivered through The UWI Global Campus under the World Bank-funded Caribbean Digital Transformation Project, is designed to expand access to specialised digital training across the Eastern Caribbean.

Training areas include artificial intelligence and machine learning, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data analytics, fintech and blockchain, UX/UI design, web development and mobile app development.

For Montserrat, the programme provides a potential pathway for students, professionals and other eligible participants to gain industry-focused digital skills while strengthening the island's technology workforce.

The initiative comes as technology and artificial intelligence become increasingly important to Montserrat's economic development, including the island's upcoming Tourism Week 2026, which will focus on technology and AI opportunities in tourism.

The scholarship programme places digital skills, AI training and technology certification at the centre of a wider regional effort to prepare Caribbean workers for an increasingly digital economy.
