The University of the Virgin Islands Research and Technology Park (RTPark) has reported significant progress in strengthening the territory's technology ecosystem, with expanded STEM education programs, startup development initiatives, and small-business lending. During a recent legislative budget hearing, officials said RTPark served 2,150 participants through its free STEM programs—nearly tripling participation compared with the previous year.

RTPark also announced that it will not require General Fund support for fiscal year 2027, operating instead through revenue generated by its tenant companies. In addition, the organization reported $1.6 million in loans and the addition of nine new tenant organizations, reflecting continued growth in the territory's innovation and entrepreneurship sectors.

Technology leaders say the latest results demonstrate growing momentum for the U.S. Virgin Islands as a destination for innovation, digital business, and workforce development. Continued investment in STEM education and startup support is expected to strengthen the territory's technology sector and create new opportunities for entrepreneurs, students, and high-skilled professionals.
