GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands — Premier André Ebanks is representing the Cayman Islands at a major regional political meeting in Bermuda this week as leaders from several British Overseas Territories coordinate positions on shared challenges.

Ebanks is attending the Overseas Territories Caribbean Caucus, taking place from September 8 to 12. The meeting brings together leaders from the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands, Montserrat and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The forum provides an opportunity for the territories to exchange experiences and develop common approaches to regional policy issues.

Key discussions include participation in international and regional organisations, health and social care, climate change, financial services, trade and economic partnerships.

Premier Ebanks said face-to-face discussions among Overseas Territory leaders can strengthen their understanding of challenges and opportunities affecting the territories individually and collectively.

The talks are particularly significant ahead of the UK Joint Ministerial Council in London in November, where the Overseas Territories will have another opportunity to raise shared priorities with the UK Government.

For Cayman, the discussions could provide an avenue to strengthen regional cooperation while advancing the territory's interests on financial services, trade, climate resilience and social policy.

The Premier's participation places Cayman Islands priorities directly within a wider Caribbean Overseas Territories policy discussion.
