ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Aruba recorded 242 new business permits during the first six months of 2026, according to the latest figures from the Department of Economic Affairs, Commerce and Industry (DEZHI).

The government reported that 104 new business permits were granted during the second quarter alone. These included 69 limited-liability companies, 18 sole proprietorships, 16 branch offices and one public limited company.

The new businesses represent a range of economic activities, including real estate, construction, technical installation, rental services, car rentals, cafés and restaurants, grocery retail, clothing and accessories, and e-commerce.

Between April and June, DEZHI also recorded 753 notifications involving business permits and modifications, reflecting continued activity within Aruba's business-registration system.

The figures provide a snapshot of Aruba's entrepreneurial landscape during the first half of 2026, with new enterprises emerging across both traditional industries and digital commerce.

The government says the data demonstrates that business activity is continuing to diversify across Aruba's economy, while new entrepreneurs establish operations in a variety of sectors.
