CASTRIES, Saint Lucia — Nine people were injured following a two-vehicle collision on the Millennium Highway on Friday afternoon, September 4, 2026.

The Saint Lucia Fire Service responded at approximately 1:50 p.m. after receiving reports of the crash. One of the vehicles had a single occupant who required extrication following the collision.

The driver sustained minor lacerations and abrasions to the lower extremities, while eight occupants travelling in the other vehicle also suffered minor injuries.

All nine people were treated at the scene before being transported to a medical facility for further care, according to the Fire Service.

The incident highlights continuing concerns surrounding road safety and emergency preparedness in Saint Lucia, particularly along heavily used transportation corridors.

Emergency responders once again played a critical role in assisting those involved and securing medical attention following the collision.
