A 36-year-old man was seriously injured in a knife attack in Fort-de-France on Wednesday evening, September 23, according to local reports.

The incident occurred at around 8:45 p.m. in the Baie des Tourelles area, along Avenue Victor-Lamont. The victim suffered injuries to his hands and back and was conscious when emergency responders took charge of him.

He was transported to the CHU de Martinique under critical-emergency conditions, according to RCI Martinique. Details surrounding the circumstances of the attack have not been released at this stage.
