KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaican reggae singer Hezron is continuing his international music journey with a major performance at AfroFestival Ottawa 2026, taking place from September 11 to 13 at Mooney’s Bay Park in Ottawa, Canada.

The Montego Bay-born artiste is scheduled to perform during the festival’s closing night on Sunday. The event brings together African, Caribbean and Pan-African music, culture and entertainment, with organizers expecting a large international audience.

Hezron’s Ottawa appearance follows a recent performance in New Delhi, India, where he represented Jamaica at Independence celebrations hosted by Jamaica’s High Commission. His music reportedly received a strong response from the Indian audience, with his song “Holding On” earning multiple performances and a standing ovation.

The singer says the experience reinforced the global reach of Jamaican reggae, particularly its messages of love, resilience and hope.

With AfroFestival Ottawa featuring international performers and thousands of attendees, Hezron’s appearance provides another opportunity to put Jamaican reggae, Caribbean culture and Jamaican artistry before audiences outside the island.

The festival runs through September 13, making Hezron’s performance one of the latest international showcases for Jamaica’s contemporary reggae scene.
