Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is hosting a landmark international cricket event as the NCL GT20 Canada tournament brings five professional franchises to Arnos Vale Sporting Complex for an 11-day competition.
The tournament began on October 23 and continues through November 2, 2026, with 18 matches scheduled across the competition. This year’s Caribbean edition marks the first time the Canadian franchise league has been staged outside Canada, creating a new connection between Canadian cricket and the West Indies.
Five teams are competing for the championship: the Brampton Blazers, Mississauga Skyhawks, Montreal Warriors, Toronto Kings and Vancouver Guardians. The schedule includes 15 league matches, two semi-finals and the final, all taking place at Arnos Vale.
The tournament is expected to feature a mix of Canadian, Caribbean and international cricket talent. Vincentian cricketer Dilano Douglas is among the local players expected to take part, giving home supporters a personal connection to the competition.
The event is also designed to strengthen player development and commercial ties between Canada and the Caribbean. Hosting international franchises gives local fans access to high-level T20 cricket while showcasing Saint Vincent’s facilities to overseas audiences.
The schedule includes daytime and evening matches, with the semi-finals set for November 1 and the championship final scheduled for November 2 at Arnos Vale Sporting Complex. Supporters should check the official tournament schedule for the latest fixtures and ticket information.
For SVG, the tournament represents an important opportunity to showcase its cricketing culture, attract visitors and build stronger connections across the international game.
