Haiti’s technology and entrepreneurship community is gaining international attention as the 10th Haiti Tech Summit takes place during United Nations General Assembly Week in New York.
The September 30 summit, held in partnership with Fordham University, brought together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, corporate leaders and innovators to discuss the future of artificial intelligence, technology innovation, entrepreneurship and global development.
Organisers said the milestone event marks a decade of efforts to connect Haiti’s innovation ecosystem with international technology and investment networks. The summit’s programme focuses on how technology can create new opportunities for entrepreneurs and support development.
The event also highlights the growing role of AI and digital innovation in discussions about Haiti’s future. Its organisers have positioned the summit as a platform connecting Haitian and international innovators with investors, technology companies and development leaders.
The summit comes as Haiti’s wider technology sector continues to develop, including efforts by telecommunications authorities to strengthen digital infrastructure and build technology skills. Haiti’s national telecommunications regulator, CONATEL, has also been developing staff capacity in generative AI and related digital tools.
The 10th anniversary puts Haiti’s technology ecosystem in an international spotlight while highlighting AI, entrepreneurship and digital development as key areas for future growth.
