PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — Haiti has introduced a comprehensive national sports development initiative focused on expanding youth academies, strengthening elite athlete preparation, and modernizing high-performance training facilities across the country.

Sports authorities announced investments in advanced coaching programs, athlete performance analysis, sports science laboratories, rehabilitation services, fitness centers, and talent identification systems designed to support athletes from grassroots to elite competition.

Officials emphasized that long-term investment in youth sports and athlete development is essential for building international competitiveness, promoting healthy lifestyles, and inspiring future generations through sporting excellence.

The initiative supports football, athletics, basketball, volleyball, taekwondo, judo, swimming, cycling, and other nationally recognized sports through structured training pathways and expanded community participation.

National sports federations welcomed the program, highlighting the importance of certified coaching, nutrition planning, injury prevention, mental performance support, and strength and conditioning in improving athlete performance.

Schools and community sports clubs will partner with national organizations to expand youth leagues, inter-school competitions, coaching workshops, and scholarship opportunities that encourage long-term athletic growth.
