Grenada has presented Project Polaris and its wider Medical City vision to prospective international investors and development partners during the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The September 23 investment presentation highlighted opportunities linked to the new General Hospital, healthcare services, medical research, technology, wellness and related businesses. Government officials said the project could also support job creation, skills development and new economic activity.
Project Sponsor Ambassador Andrea St Bernard outlined the investment vision, while Grenada Investment Development Corporation Chairman Ambassador Richard Nixon presented broader opportunities for investors in Grenada.
Finance Minister Dennis Cornwall said US$185 million has been secured for Project Polaris, describing the financing as evidence of investor confidence in the country's development direction.
The initiative places healthcare infrastructure alongside investment, innovation and human-capital development, with potential implications for Grenada's wider economy and its role in providing healthcare services across the Eastern Caribbean.
