ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada — Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell has urged supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to begin preparing for Grenada’s next general election, placing electoral organisation back in focus.

Speaking at an NDC mini-rally, Mitchell encouraged supporters to mobilise at the community level, including going door-to-door, checking voter registration and identifying polling divisions.

The prime minister has not announced an election date. Grenada’s next general election is constitutionally due no later than October 2027, although the government can dissolve Parliament earlier.

Mitchell has also been overseeing the development of the NDC’s “People’s Manifesto”, a party initiative designed to gather input from citizens for its next election platform. The party has said it plans to create an online tracker showing the status of manifesto commitments by constituency.

The latest mobilisation comes as political activity increases ahead of the next national vote, with voter registration, constituency organisation and campaign planning becoming increasingly prominent in Grenada’s political discussion.

For voters, the developments provide an indication that political parties are beginning to organise more actively even though no polling date has yet been formally announced.
