SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic — Sports authorities in the Dominican Republic have unveiled a new High-Performance Volleyball Centre designed to enhance elite athlete preparation through world-class coaching, sports science, and advanced performance technology.

Officials announced investments in Olympic-standard indoor courts, biomechanics laboratories, sports medicine facilities, athlete recovery centres, digital performance analytics, strength and conditioning gyms, and coaching education programmes.

Authorities emphasized that expanding elite sports infrastructure will strengthen international competitiveness while encouraging greater youth participation in organized athletics.

The new centre will support national volleyball programmes, junior development academies, coaching certification, referee education, sports nutrition services, and talent identification initiatives across the country.

National coaches welcomed the investment, highlighting that modern performance analysis, injury prevention technologies, and scientific training methods will improve athlete development.

Sports medicine professionals praised the inclusion of physiotherapy, recovery technology, wearable performance tracking, and sports psychology services that help athletes compete at the highest level.

Educational institutions and community sports clubs will collaborate with the centre to expand youth competitions, scholarships, and grassroots volleyball programmes.
