ROSEAU, Dominica — Dominica is preparing for a major cultural celebration as the island’s 2026 Creole season brings a month-long programme of music, culture, culinary activities and community events.
The season is scheduled to run from October 3 to November 4, 2026, extending the celebration beyond a single festival weekend and creating a packed calendar of activities across Dominica.
The programme forms part of Dominica’s 48th Independence celebrations, which are being held under the theme “Our Journey, Our Legacy, Our Future.” The official programme includes cultural, community, religious and national activities.
Music remains a major part of the entertainment calendar, with the wider Creole season building anticipation for the World Creole Music Festival, scheduled for October 23–25 in Roseau.
The celebrations are expected to showcase Dominican music, Creole traditions, food, dance and local artistic talent, while bringing communities and visitors together throughout the season.
With events continuing into early November, the 2026 Creole season is set to provide an extended platform for Dominica’s cultural and entertainment industry.
