Sports authorities announced investments in athlete performance laboratories, strength and conditioning facilities, rehabilitation centers, nutrition programs, coaching certification, and digital performance analysis designed to improve long-term sporting success.
Officials emphasized that investing in elite athlete development will strengthen Dominica's sporting competitiveness while inspiring greater youth participation in organized sports and healthy lifestyles.
The initiative supports athletics, football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, swimming, netball, cycling, tennis, and other community sports through structured talent development pathways.
National sports federations welcomed the strategy, highlighting the importance of sports medicine, injury prevention, mental performance coaching, and scientific training methods in helping athletes reach international standards.
Schools, local clubs, and community organizations will collaborate with the institute to expand youth competitions, coaching workshops, athlete scholarships, and talent identification programs throughout the island.
