Curaçao is preparing for an important new phase of political activity as Parliament gets ready to officially open its 2026–2027 parliamentary year on September 8.

The Curaçao Parliament is scheduled to open the new parliamentary year on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, after the Council of Ministers approved the date following a request from the Minister of General Affairs.

The opening marks the beginning of another period of parliamentary work involving legislation, government policy, public finances and national priorities.

The new parliamentary year is expected to put renewed attention on the issues affecting Curaçao’s economy, public services and long-term development.
