PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — Haiti has announced the launch of a National Resilient Energy Grid Programme designed to modernize electricity infrastructure, improve energy reliability, and strengthen climate resilience through advanced digital technologies.

Government officials, energy authorities, engineers, renewable energy developers, and international infrastructure partners introduced investments supporting smart electricity networks, AI-powered grid monitoring, renewable energy integration, battery storage systems, and resilient transmission infrastructure.

Officials emphasized that strengthening national energy infrastructure is critical for supporting economic development, expanding reliable public services, and improving long-term resilience across Haiti.

The programme includes intelligent power distribution systems, automated outage detection, digital energy management platforms, solar-powered community energy hubs, modern substations, predictive maintenance technologies, and cybersecurity protections for critical infrastructure.

Energy specialists welcomed the initiative, explaining that smart grid technologies improve operational efficiency while reducing service disruptions and supporting renewable energy expansion.
