Anguilla Premier Cora Richardson-Hodge has taken part in high-level regional discussions focused on the future of the British Caribbean Overseas Territories, as leaders gathered for the 2026 Overseas Territories Caribbean Caucus in Bermuda.

The September meeting brought together political leaders from Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Montserrat and Turks and Caicos Islands to discuss shared political, economic and social priorities.

Among the major issues discussed were constitutional modernisation, climate resilience, financial services, healthcare, cybersecurity and regional cooperation. The discussions are particularly significant as the Caucus serves as a precursor to the annual Joint Ministerial Council with the United Kingdom, scheduled for November.

Premier Richardson-Hodge also visited Bermuda’s House of Assembly during the programme, where she observed parliamentary proceedings and joined other visiting leaders in engaging with Bermuda’s political leadership.

The regional gathering gives Anguilla an opportunity to coordinate its priorities with neighbouring Overseas Territories and strengthen its collective voice in discussions with the UK Government.

For Anguilla, the talks could prove important as the territory continues to address constitutional, economic, climate and public-service priorities. The November Joint Ministerial Council is expected to provide another major platform for these issues.
