PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands — Four young swimmers from the Turks and Caicos Islands are taking the territory onto a major regional stage as they compete at the 30th Goodwill Swimming Championships in Trinidad and Tobago from August 14–16, 2026.

The Turks and Caicos Islands Swim Federation is sending a six-member delegation, including four swimmers, to the competition at the National Aquatic Centre in Balmain, Couva.

The championships provide an important opportunity for TCI’s young swimmers to test themselves against some of the Caribbean’s strongest age-group competitors.

Goodwill Swimming Championships are known for bringing together talented young athletes from across the region while promoting friendship, sportsmanship and competitive development.

For Turks and Caicos, participation gives emerging swimmers valuable international experience and exposure to high-level competition.

The event also highlights the growing importance of swimming development within TCI’s national sports programme.

Competing against regional athletes can help young swimmers identify areas for improvement while building confidence ahead of future championships.

The delegation’s participation also reflects the continued work of the Turks and Caicos Islands Swim Federation in developing aquatic talent and creating international opportunities for local athletes.

Strong performances in Trinidad could provide another boost for the territory’s growing swimming programme.

The championships continue through August 16, with TCI’s young athletes carrying the territory’s flag in regional competition.
