PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago — Trinidad and Tobago is stepping up its focus on business artificial intelligence with the launch of a new AI readiness and implementation programme for senior executives.

The initiative, launched on September 10 by AMCHAM T&T, UNDP Trinidad and Tobago and UWI’s Artificial Intelligence Innovation Centre (AIIC), is designed to help companies move from experimenting with AI toward practical applications that can improve productivity and competitiveness.

Seven companies are participating in the programme, which will run for four months from September through December 2026. Participants will receive strategic and technical guidance to identify business problems where AI can be realistically applied.

The programme also highlights the growing importance of AI skills, data readiness and responsible technology adoption for Trinidad and Tobago businesses as digital transformation accelerates across the Caribbean.

The initiative gives local companies a structured opportunity to assess AI opportunities and develop clearer pathways from AI concepts to deployable business solutions.
