The election petition case challenging the parliamentary eligibility of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Dr. Godwin Friday and Foreign Minister Fitzgerald Bramble resumes on September 28, bringing the constitutional issue back before the court.

The petition was filed by Luke Browne and Carlos Williams, unsuccessful Unity Labour Party candidates in the November 27, 2025 general election. They are challenging the eligibility of Friday, the Northern Grenadines MP, and Bramble, the East Kingstown MP, over their dual-citizenship status.

The respondents' case is now scheduled to be heard, following the conclusion of the petitioners' presentation in June. The current stage is scheduled to continue until October 2, 2026.

The administration had previously sought to introduce two Bills addressing the constitutional rules governing dual citizenship and parliamentary eligibility, but those measures were subsequently deferred.
