BRADES, Montserrat — Residents of Montserrat are among those eligible to benefit from a new regional push to strengthen advanced digital skills, as the 2026 OECS Advanced Digital Skills Scholarship Programme opens opportunities across the Eastern Caribbean.
The programme is being delivered through The UWI Global Campus under the Caribbean Digital Transformation Project, a World Bank-financed initiative designed to strengthen digital capabilities and prepare people for the future of work.
Montserrat is one of the participating OECS countries, alongside Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Anguilla.
The scholarship programme builds on an earlier cohort that produced more than 200 certifications, with the new intake expanding access to industry-relevant digital training.
For Montserrat, the initiative could help strengthen the island's technology workforce by giving residents opportunities to develop skills relevant to digital services, technology careers and the increasingly AI-driven global economy.
The programme also supports Montserrat's wider national ICT vision of becoming a “Digital World, Green, Connected & Thriving,” while complementing government efforts to expand digital capacity and services.
As technology continues to reshape employment and business across the Caribbean, access to advanced digital training could become an important advantage for Montserrat's young professionals, entrepreneurs and remote workers.
