BRADES, Montserrat — Montserrat has placed its business community firmly in the spotlight following the successful conclusion of the island’s first-ever Montserrat Business Awards & Gala during PRIME Weekend 2026.

Held at the Salem Community Centre on July 26, the event recognised entrepreneurs and businesses for achievements spanning innovation, manufacturing, customer service, community impact and economic contribution.

M.S. Osborne Limited was named Business of the Year 2026, providing a major recognition for one of the island’s established companies.

The awards formed part of the expanded Produced in Montserrat Expo (PRIME), which was designed to create greater commercial exposure for local enterprises while promoting Montserrat-made products and services.

Other award categories highlighted emerging entrepreneurs, export performance, innovation, youth entrepreneurship, green business and brand development.

The event signals a growing emphasis on entrepreneurship and private-sector development as Montserrat works to strengthen its economic base.

For small businesses, recognition through the awards can provide valuable publicity, networking opportunities and greater visibility among customers, investors and potential partners.

The initiative also reinforces the importance of locally owned enterprises in creating employment, developing new products and supporting economic diversification.

With PRIME and the Business Awards now established as part of Montserrat’s business calendar, attention will turn to how the momentum can translate into stronger commercial opportunities for local entrepreneurs.

The 2026 awards have given Montserrat’s business community a new platform to celebrate achievement while encouraging the next generation of entrepreneurs to build and expand on the island.
