The Martinique-based Groupe Bernard Hayot (GBH) is expanding into the fitness and wellness industry through the acquisition of the sports and well-being division of French group ICM, which operates the Keepcool and Neoness brands.
The transaction gives GBH exposure to a network of nearly 300 fitness clubs across France, marking an expansion beyond its traditional retail and distribution activities. The deal was announced on September 22, 2026.
The acquisition adds fitness, sport and wellness services to GBH's growing business portfolio. Keepcool and Neoness are established fitness brands in the French market, giving the Martinique-headquartered group a new position in the country's health and leisure economy.
The development also highlights the continued expansion of Caribbean-headquartered companies into wider French and international markets, with GBH using the acquisition to diversify its activities.
