Saint Kitts and Nevis’ sporting talent is attracting fresh recognition after Minister of Sports Samal Duggins praised cricketer Jahzara Claxton and footballer Tiquanny Williams for their recent international performances.

Claxton, 20, played a key role in the West Indies Women’s 3–0 T20 International series sweep against Zimbabwe, finishing the series with 73 runs and seven wickets. Her all-round performances earned her Player of the Series honours, highlighting her growing importance to the regional team.

Williams has also impressed for the Saint Kitts and Nevis national football team, the Sugar Boyz. He scored eight of the Federation’s first 10 goals across four Concacaf Nations League matches, including a hat-trick against Grenada and a brace against Bonaire.

Minister Duggins said the athletes’ achievements reflect the talent, discipline and determination of young sportspeople representing the Federation abroad. Their performances are also providing inspiration for aspiring cricketers and footballers across Saint Kitts and Nevis.

The achievements of Claxton and Williams underline the Federation’s growing presence in regional cricket and international football, while putting a spotlight on the opportunities available to emerging local athletes.
