The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding with Qatar’s Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) aimed at strengthening football development and creating new pathways for young Guyanese players.
The agreement, signed in Doha on September 28, focuses on youth national teams, grassroots football, coaching development, player performance assessment and football infrastructure.
A major part of the partnership will target Guyana’s Under-14 and Under-17 national teams, with Aspire expected to provide technical support, coaching expertise and player-development assistance. The organisations will also explore training camps for the teams at Aspire facilities in Doha.
The partnership will also include an assessment of Guyana’s football ecosystem and the development of a roadmap for future cooperation. The initiative comes as the GFF continues efforts to strengthen the pathway from grassroots football to national-team level.
The agreement could provide Guyana’s emerging football talent with greater access to specialist coaching, performance development and international sporting expertise.
