Saint Lucia’s young cricketers have received specialist coaching from former New Zealand international Paul “Wiz” Wiseman, who completed a spin-bowling camp with players from the Saint Lucia Cricket High Performance Centre.

Wiseman, who played 73 international matches for New Zealand, including 25 Tests, spent the week working with emerging spinners at Mindoo Phillip Park. The programme also included players from the Saint Lucia National Cricket Association’s youth development programmes.

The former Black Caps spinner worked alongside Saint Lucia High Performance Centre coaches, including John Eugene and Larry Edward, conducting individual sessions and helping players develop their bowling skills.

Wiseman highlighted the potential of Saint Lucia’s young spin bowlers and said the island’s playing conditions can provide opportunities for developing effective spinners.

The initiative forms part of efforts to strengthen Saint Lucia’s cricket talent pipeline and prepare young players for higher-level regional competition. Some of the senior bowlers also had an opportunity to apply lessons from the camp during practice against players from the Windward Islands Volcanoes.
