Curaçao’s business environment is showing continued resilience, with the island’s Business Cycle Index reaching its highest recorded level in the latest official economic survey.
The Central Bureau of Statistics Curaçao (CBS) reported that the Business Cycle Index increased to 133 in 2025, up from 128 in 2024 and 113 in 2023. The index has climbed steadily since 2021, when it stood at 72.
The survey, covering around 800 active businesses, also found that 76% of companies reported positive business results in 2025, compared with 73% in 2024. At the same time, 40% of businesses rated the investment climate as good, up from 32% a year earlier.
However, business confidence was mixed. The proportion of companies confident in the future fell from 75% to 72%, while the share reporting no confidence increased.
The latest figures suggest that Curaçao’s private sector remains relatively strong, but businesses continue to face uncertainty over the future investment and economic environment.
The results provide an important snapshot of how local entrepreneurs and companies are assessing economic conditions as Curaçao continues to expand its tourism-driven economy and seek greater diversification.
