Police in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are investigating a fatal shooting in Kingstown that has pushed the country’s reported murder toll for 2026 to 32.
The latest incident occurred early Tuesday, August 18, at the former Cinerama building on White Chapel Road. According to local reports, a 54-year-old man identified as Mark Shallow of Georgetown was shot and killed inside the building.
Police reports indicate that an unknown assailant entered the building around 1 a.m. and opened fire before fleeing the area. Investigators are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and identify the person responsible.
The killing comes after a tense period for SVG, with four separate shooting incidents reported between August 14 and August 17, including incidents in Kingstown and North Leeward.
The latest development is likely to intensify public discussion about gun crime, policing and community safety across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as authorities continue their investigations.
