Bermuda is stepping up its international technology profile as government representatives participate in the 2026 SALT Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, bringing the island’s digital-asset strategy before investors, entrepreneurs, regulators and technology leaders.
The invitation-only event, running from August 17 to 20, is expected to bring together about 500 participants from across the digital-asset ecosystem. Bermuda’s delegation includes Premier David Burt, Ministry of Finance representatives and officials from the Bermuda Monetary Authority.
A key focus is Bermuda’s ambition to move beyond simply attracting licensed digital-asset companies toward greater local adoption of blockchain and digital financial technology.
The Premier is also participating in a discussion on social impact through digital finance, with Bermuda’s Digital Asset Business Act and progress toward an onchain economy among the topics being highlighted.
The development comes as Bermuda pursues a broader FinTech Strategy 2026–2028, which identifies digital identity, innovation, international collaboration and insurtech as important pillars for the island’s technology ecosystem.
Bermuda’s push into blockchain and digital finance could strengthen its position as a technology-driven international financial centre, while creating new opportunities for fintech businesses and digital-asset innovation.
