ST. JOHN'S, Antigua and Barbuda — Antigua and Barbuda is preparing for a major increase in international business attention after Australian billionaire and mining entrepreneur Dr Andrew “Twiggy” Forrest was confirmed among the high-profile business leaders expected to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2026.

Forrest's participation adds further international visibility to Antigua and Barbuda as the country prepares to host Commonwealth leaders, investors, entrepreneurs and business executives in November.

The upcoming Commonwealth Business Forum is expected to place investment, trade, entrepreneurship and economic partnerships at the centre of discussions.

The forum is scheduled for November 2–4, 2026, with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council describing the event as a major opportunity to connect businesses and investors from across the 56-member Commonwealth network.

Antigua and Barbuda's investment authorities have been working to position the country as a destination for international capital while encouraging opportunities in tourism, financial services, technology and other emerging sectors.

The arrival of prominent international business figures could provide additional exposure for local companies seeking partnerships, financing and access to overseas markets.

For Antigua and Barbuda, the gathering represents an opportunity to convert international attention into practical investment and trade opportunities for the local economy.

Business leaders are expected to use the meetings to explore partnerships, investment projects and opportunities for greater Commonwealth commercial cooperation.

With preparations for CHOGM and the Commonwealth Business Forum continuing, Antigua and Barbuda is positioning itself as a meeting point for global business and Caribbean investment.

The participation of internationally recognised investors such as Forrest further raises the profile of the country's upcoming business programme.
