THE VALLEY, Anguilla — Anguilla’s House of Assembly has approved the compulsory acquisition of two parcels of private land to support road changes associated with the developing Port Nimara project.

The measure was considered during the House’s September 29 sitting as part of a motion concerning the compulsory acquisition of land. The parliamentary business paper listed the matter alongside government business and the Criminal (Amendment) Code, 2026.

The land acquisition is connected to road infrastructure changes around Port Nimara, a major southwest Anguilla development that includes a planned marina and resort facilities.

The decision gives the government the parliamentary approval needed to proceed with the acquisition process under Anguilla’s land-acquisition framework.

The development is part of broader infrastructure activity surrounding Port Nimara, with the project expected to bring significant tourism and marina investment to the island.

The land decision highlights the government’s continuing role in facilitating infrastructure linked to major private-sector developments in Anguilla.
