BIMINI, The Bahamas — Westgate Resorts is preparing to open Westgate Bimini Bay in October 2026, marking the company’s first property in The Bahamas and adding fresh momentum to investment in the country’s tourism sector.
The development forms part of an $850 million Caribbean investment strategy by the resort company, positioning Bimini as an increasingly important destination for international tourism and hospitality investment.
The new resort is expected to strengthen Bimini’s tourism economy while creating additional opportunities for local businesses and service providers.
The investment comes as The Bahamas continues attracting major international tourism projects across several islands.
For Bimini, additional resort capacity could generate demand for transportation, restaurants, retail, excursions, construction services and other businesses supporting visitors.
The project also highlights growing investor interest in destinations beyond Nassau and the country’s traditional major resort centres.
As the opening approaches, businesses in Bimini could benefit from increased visitor activity and new commercial opportunities connected to the resort.
The development forms part of a broader pattern of international capital flowing into Bahamian tourism, infrastructure and hospitality projects during 2026.
Westgate’s entry into the Bahamian market could therefore become an important new chapter for Bimini’s tourism and business economy.
