PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands — The Turks and Caicos Islands has officially launched its National High Performance Sports Academy, a modern training centre designed to develop elite athletes while strengthening youth participation across multiple sporting disciplines.
Government officials, national sports federations, coaches, sports scientists, educators, and healthcare professionals introduced the new academy featuring AI-powered performance analytics, biomechanics laboratories, recovery facilities, nutrition centres, and professional coaching programmes.
Officials emphasized that investing in world-class sports infrastructure will strengthen athlete development, encourage healthy lifestyles, and improve the Turks and Caicos Islands' competitiveness at regional and international sporting events.
The academy will support athletes competing in football, athletics, basketball, volleyball, swimming, cycling, tennis, and other competitive sports through personalized training plans, injury prevention programmes, sports psychology services, and advanced fitness assessments.
