Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is expanding efforts to close the digital accessibility gap, with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC) providing new assistive technology and ICT equipment to three institutions.

The equipment, valued at EC$8,900, was donated on August 12 through the NTRC’s DRIVE Project, an initiative focused on improving digital inclusion and accessibility for elderly people and persons with disabilities.

The latest donation highlights the growing role of technology in creating more inclusive public and community services across SVG.

Assistive technology can help people overcome barriers to accessing information, communication and digital services, while ICT equipment can provide institutions with additional tools to support their programmes.

The NTRC's continued investment in accessibility comes as Saint Vincent and the Grenadines advances its broader digital transformation agenda, including efforts to expand access to digital services, technology and skills.

The latest initiative could strengthen opportunities for vulnerable residents to participate more fully in an increasingly digital SVG economy and society.
