Curaçao is preparing to welcome prominent Caribbean sports leaders as the island hosts the 24th General Assembly of the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) from October 15 to 19, 2026.
Organised in collaboration with the Federashon Deporte i Olímpiko Kòrsou (FDOK), the gathering will bring together regional Olympic representatives for strategic meetings, educational workshops and discussions about the future of sport across the Caribbean. The main General Assembly is scheduled for October 18 in Willemstad.
The programme is designed to strengthen cooperation between national Olympic committees, improve sports administration and encourage the exchange of knowledge. Delegates will also take part in cultural activities and the FDOK Honors Night, celebrating sporting achievement in Curaçao and the wider region.
For Curaçao, hosting the assembly provides an opportunity to showcase its sporting community and build stronger connections with regional and international sports organisations. Discussions are expected to focus on athlete development, sports leadership, institutional capacity and cooperation between Caribbean sporting bodies.
The event also supports FDOK’s broader ambition to strengthen local sports structures and create more opportunities for Curaçaoan athletes to develop and compete internationally.
With regional sports leaders gathering in Willemstad this week, Curaçao is positioning itself as an important meeting point for Caribbean sports development and Olympic cooperation.
