ROAD TOWN, British Virgin Islands — The British Virgin Islands is preparing to welcome some of the region's top volleyball talent as Tortola hosts the 2026 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Senior Men's and Women's Volleyball Championships from August 12 to 16.

The tournament will be staged at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, in collaboration with the Virgin Islands Volleyball Association.

The five-day championship is expected to bring intense regional competition and a major boost to volleyball visibility in the territory.

Teams will compete in both men's and women's divisions, giving local fans an opportunity to watch high-level Eastern Caribbean volleyball on home soil.

The event also provides an important platform for local volleyball players and officials to gain experience from regional competition while showcasing the BVI as a capable host for international sporting events.

Hosting the ECVA championships is another opportunity for Tortola to combine sports, tourism and regional engagement, with visiting teams, officials and supporters expected to contribute to activity around the tournament.

The competition comes shortly after the BVI's strong international athletics spotlight, including Adaejah Hodge's historic Commonwealth Games gold medal in the women's 200 metres.
