HAMILTON, Bermuda — Bermuda has officially inaugurated the National High Performance Sports Centre, a modern training facility designed to support elite athletes, enhance coaching standards, and strengthen the island's sporting performance on the international stage.

Government officials, national sporting federations, coaches, sports scientists, healthcare professionals, educators, and youth organizations introduced the centre featuring AI-powered performance analytics, biomechanics laboratories, athlete recovery facilities, nutrition services, and advanced coaching technologies.

Officials stated that investing in world-class sports infrastructure will strengthen athlete preparation, encourage youth participation, and expand Bermuda's presence in regional and global sporting competitions.

The centre supports athletics, football, cricket, sailing, swimming, cycling, rugby, triathlon, and other competitive sports through personalized training programmes, injury prevention services, sports psychology support, and advanced fitness assessments.

Sports scientists welcomed the initiative, explaining that wearable performance technology, motion capture systems, reaction testing, and AI-assisted coaching provide athletes with more accurate performance insights while reducing injury risks.

National coaches praised expanded access to high-performance facilities, noting that structured athlete development pathways will better prepare competitors for international championships, Commonwealth competitions, and Olympic qualification events.

Educational institutions also announced partnerships supporting sports science education, coaching certification, athlete scholarships, and youth leadership programmes.
