NASSAU, Bahamas — The Bahamas’ tourism sector is continuing to generate momentum for businesses across the country, with new official figures showing record stopover arrivals during the first seven months of 2026.
The Bahamas recorded 1,314,639 stopover visitors from January through July 2026, an increase of more than 54,000 visitors, or 4.3%, compared with the same period in 2025. June and July both recorded their highest-ever stopover arrivals for those months.
The growth is also spreading across key international markets. Canadian stopover arrivals increased 15.4% year-to-date, while arrivals from Latin America rose 16.4% and Europe increased 4%.
For Bahamian businesses, the continued visitor growth supports activity across hotels, restaurants, transportation, excursions, retail, marine services and tourism-related small businesses.
Exuma recorded an 18.6% increase in air arrivals year-to-date, while Nassau and Paradise Island remained the country's primary tourism gateway.
The latest figures indicate that tourism demand is extending beyond the traditional spring travel period, creating opportunities for businesses and communities across the wider Bahamian archipelago.
